The taking and the giving

We all give and we take…but its how and why we do it that makes all the difference. Continue reading

No doubt

How are you feeling, a little overwhelmed, frustrated by the way the world is and like you don’t know how to make a difference? If evolution is starting to feel a bit like an abstract idea with very little foundation outside of your own spiritual practice, take heart…I have a few ideas to share about how you are already making a significant difference to the world. The festive underbelly

Part of me finds christmas quite abhorrent because meat gluttony peaks at this time of year and there’s really no escaping it. Everywhere I look –  in my newsfeed, in commercials and many of the websites I use to do … Continue reading

The Sacredness of Life as purpose

If you happened upon this post, having often wondered what it was that made life so hard and even purposeless in your case when others seem to thrive, then know that it shouldn’t be the case…and that you are probably not that far off from flipping everything in your favour. The point is, first off, to realise that you are not “made” like everyone else and to recognise and honour those differences as the unused gifts that they probably are. You have a purpose but it may not look like anyone else’s purpose (though it is beneath the surface…yours is just wrapped up in slightly different priorities). Yours may sound a lot more abstract than theirs when you find it…but that’s not to say it can’t be put to practical use. The point is to identify that purpose (what has been the one thing that seems most important to you and which has driven you along, throughout all the various “projects” of your life, even “accidental” ones such as claiming your health back…) and then use that to fuel your own chosen trajectory. Yes, you can and will grow out of the dark places that may have become your home or your hide-y-hole for so long; but you need the right scaffolding to assist you to do that and, like all the best scaffolding, this needs to be supportive from within. Fate worse than death

Its not death but LIFE that we dread, because life can be the very devil due to our sentience…which is our universal ability to FEEL and to KNOW things through all of the senses, a collective ability that can be referred to as our emotional mind or even heart mind…which is far superior to the mind we equate with our rational thoughts. It’s why we live in so much fear of the death process, whether we own up to these fears or not…since we feel our way all the way to its door…and yet our entire culture is built upon practices that inflict our very worse fears on others. We all seem to know this about ourselves and yet we don’t act upon most of the time. This simple inconsistency between what we know and how we behave underlies so much that is going wrong that if we could but own up to our universal sentience, shared by all creatures that draw breath, and then fix it…well, who know. Continue reading

Absolute

We are all absolute at the core of our cells; in that void of pure potential that has yet to take shape as the matter we more familiarly know as the substance of life. So, the more we wake up … Continue reading

The joy of finding tribe

When you find “tribe” your relative uniqueness can flip from being a weakness to becoming your very power-point…that which unites you and makes you more determined to be the difference together. Deep familiarity sweeps you over for the fact that it is so typically absent when you are amongst other people…and suddenly you are all lit up, laughing at all the ironies that once floored you, ignited with enthusiasm, passion, innovation and determination whilst eagerly gobbling up all the resources you can pool together. Its a powerful thing and all the more so when its been absent from your life for so long you had all but convinced yourself you were destined to travel this road alone.

Memories from the stones

Sometimes its as though the stones of a place speak to us; sometimes its a feeling of a place that takes us back in time…reminding us of something important, like a memo to ourselves. Continue reading

A sweeter way to be

Discovering this incredible, natural food source ethically and sustainably harvested in the jungles of Africa by people whose practices are gentle and whose lives have been tranformed (a food which felt like it was transforming my health) prompted me to consider many layers of broader relevance. I considered how we look forward to the future and what practices we use, for instance how we marry the best of traditional and modern methods (not always bowing to the latter…), how we take the quality of life of those producing the product into account and how their personal attributes (especially where this involves handling living things) feeds into the quality and the vibration of that product. Above all, there is something to be learned about how the sweetest and most nutritious things tend to come out of practices that involve the least interference, and bully tactics, of man. This approach to “harvesting” anything feeds into its energetic imprint when it reaches our cells as we eat it; you can literally taste the difference. When we snatch and grab at what we think is ours, the food tells a very different story… Continue reading
