Being the rainbow bridge

When we reach out our arms and embrace the broken aspect of the masculine, we bring it home to ourselves and the feminine values that are so needed by this world in order for us to move on together, intermingled as the best of both masculine and feminine qualities, as one unit. When we do this, we allow the masculine to dare to come home to the ever present embrace of the feminine, not to build up its walls of resistance even stronger against it. It is sad, yes, that so often the masculine has to be broken before it will come home in this way; but let it be broken only because of its own doings, not because the feminine contributed to that (which is not what the feminine is about anyway). As such, we all get to be the rainbow rather than chasing down its mythical ending (something I pondered just a few days ago  as I was travelling home along a road arced by a rainbow, wondering which end the pot of gold was meant to be at; surely when we realise it is to be found at both ends, the whole of its bridge, joining one place to another, becomes that long sought-after gold). When we are the rainbow ourselves, rather than seeking it externally, we incorporate the best of both worlds…as ourselves; which makes it less of a destination than a state we get to be in, all of the time.

Rediscovering the much-needed rainbow bridge that I describe as it is so beautifully conveyed in a hundred year old “parable” of our times: E. M Forster’s “Howard’s End”. Continue reading

Still coming

Quarter of a century since the Sally Potter film “Orlando” was released…something made me almost desperate to watch it just as the ninth wave hit its cusp and it was obvious why. The narrative takes us through both genders; the ever-romantic Orlando switching from male to female when a crisis of masculine identity is reached during a battle yet things prove even less plain-sailing when, as a woman, she is confronted with all the ridiculous social and legal infringements upon that gender’s liberty over the next two centuries. So where is she now, as she sits under a modern-day tree with her daughter by her side looking straight into the camera, a fixed knowing-gaze of such optimism it jolts you inside though a tear tries to form (hers and yours)? All these years later, I feel I know what she means as the film reveals new layers under the spotlight of hindsight; appreciating what was just starting back then, where we have been and where we are still coming to…together.

A remarkably prophetic film (from an equally prophetic novel) and a must watch if you consider yourself an agent of unity consciousness – dip into Orlando with me via this taster of Sally Potter’s still-pristine masterpiece. Continue reading

On track for non-duality: healing the rift by walking its path

This post is a long and winding path but I invite you to join me on it. Along the way, I stitch together so many observational threads about the feminine as guardian of “the long straight path” and where we are all headed in a world that is venturing beyond duality. Continue reading

The feminine has landed…so how do we induce her to stay?

…As the feminine learns to dare to take down her blockade and end her long denial of her own natural receptivity (having fully reactivated the divine integrity that keeps her perpetually intact from within), the male learns how much more fulfilling it is to give (not force) and how to enjoy holding something like a tender embrace (not an imprisonment or statement of ownership) once again. And as the feminine deigns to come into this arrangement, wanting to stay, to receive, to be offered the structures in which she can be her most playful and unlimited self, we all get to experience wholeness…together. Continue reading

Growing up

The astonishing aroma from these giant trees, straight after the storms, acted like an acute sensory hit or an activation of sorts and it turned out they had a great deal to tell me… Continue reading

Living from the centre

There is a place that I go…that I’ve worked with…for well over a decade now; you could call it my spiritual hub, somewhere I walk to process things through, even when I don’t know that I’m processing them or needing to work anything out. It doesn’t really matter to my readers where the place is; it could be anywhere and you probably have one similar of your own, somewhere that draws you to it, repeatedly, though you hardly know why. Long before I came to understand how I work with this particular landscape, as an externalised “model” of some inner landscape that I am also walking through, I came to this place and found a special solace from being there, like it helped me unravel parts of myself that might otherwise have remained in an unfathomable tangle. Through my feet, its features helped me untangle and make simpler what was otherwise unfathomably complex; layer upon layer, through many years’ walks that became littered with symbolism, adding a richness of association that was built upon each time I went there (which was often)…read on… Continue reading

Like a bee from a jar

Having just finished reading “Set Free: A Life Changing Journey from Banking to Buddhism in Bhutan”, I realise suddenly that finding others people’s stories like this is terribly important to me and I am actively looking for more like this. Perhaps it is a sign that I am ready to join up with other people, even if only so far as noticing similar patterns in our experiences and smiling quietly to see those patterns in motion. Crossing paths with others operating from a dramatically reformatted and yet remarkably similar place to your own can be such encouragement. There is a powerful point of creative evolution, a sort of concentrated forward momentum, to be found in the meeting place between your two sets of experiences and the many ways that they are found to correspond; like the essence of oneness in action.

This book corresponded with my own experiences of a “tear it up and start again” life very powerfully and the real gift is that its author was prepared to overcome her initial misgivings to share what she did. I experience the same wobble and doubts about sharing my own story every time I write a blog…yet it feels to me that sharing the journey of awakening could be the most important thing that I am doing with my life (apart from taking the journey itself…). As above, I really hope that increasing numbers of people are prepared to hold their spiritual journeys somewhat less close to the chest in order to put these experiences out there since I suspect the time has come when we really need the encouragement of each other. We long to sense that we are not alone on these very intense personal journeys and to notice the patterns; for in those patterns, and the making conscious of them, we give even more wind to our collective sails…(extract from “Like a bee from the jar”). #SetFree #SpiritualAwakening

Six months in – working more effectively with the ninth wave

This is all really happening so rapidly now; this thing that what once took centuries, even thousands of years, to play out its up-and-down rhythms of evolution – any wonder that, for many of us, life feels like it is moving faster and faster and that we are hardly the same person we were even six months ago. If this is already us and we are aware of it, in what way is it useful to “geek out” on the ninth wave, cross-referencing our experiences with some sort of calendar we may only just have heard about? Well, for those in resonance with unity consciousness (or at least “getting there”), a conscious glance to see where they are at, against the rhythms of the ninth wave (noticing, how do our circumstances correspond with its rhythms; how well are they aligned), can feel increasingly comfortable and affirming as a result of noticing they are on that same pattern. For those not there yet and still in resonance with earlier waves such as the 6th and 7th, I agree, this can feel more disarming…perhaps, ironically, more so during the day phases when their lives may feel uncomfortably out of sync with the ninth wave’s compelling unity impulse, which may not meet well with remnants of preoccupations from those earlier waves. When the tension of miss-match becomes too much, this can trigger the kind of life “break-down” (a so-called crisis to do with health, career etc) that is the start of a whole new evolutionary trajectory that is now fast-track aligning with the ninth wave. Either way, if evolution of ourselves (in tandem with humanity in general) is where we think we are at, knowing how smoothly we are lining up with this trend can be a powerful tool. Like we sometimes need to look up from our engrossing book and stare out of the window of the train at the landmarks and place names whizzing past to feel that we are really getting somewhere, using the tool of the ninth wave (which can be so easily tracked here) is the very thing to contribute a sense of coherence and forward motion to the more ad-hoc, two steps forward and one step back, sense of traction you are probably already achieving; feeding even more rapidity into the evolutionary momentum that is now just longing to become realised with our conscious participation. Continue reading

Are you tuning in to the Ninth Wave?

This is a brief post designed to pass on an article by Dr. Carl Calleman which explains more articulately than I could how and why it is important to consciously work at tuning into the Ninth Wave. This is something … Continue reading

Testament of One

It is those who tap those first holes in the glass of one paradigm who enable the next generations to see beyond its almost invisible limitations (so all-consuming can a paradigm be…) so that new light is allowed to enter and a broader perspective obtained. This is the kind of new perspective that Einstein referred to as necessarily “outside” of the current paradigm in order for us to evolve beyond its limitations and repeat behaviours. Light pouring through glass can seem just as real as light outside in the daylight…until the glass itself is shown-up to be what it is; another ceiling, the edge of a box, a particular perspective controlled by someone but not ourselves, a barrier to experiencing something much more whole and direct. Inside a particular paradigm, we experience a version of reality and it only shows us what “it” wants us to see. When we are inside of one paradigm, we can feel as comfortable as a tropical plant in its hothouse, all our needs met by it (if we are so lucky…). All without realising what we are missing, which is the open sky of something that would make it thus for all of us, not just those who are fortunate enough to be living in the most comfortable corners of a botanical experiment operated by those who turn dials to create the artificial heating and water supply that make-up our existence. In a lesser paradigm (an earlier wave of evolution, if you like) there are always those who lose out from its perspective, those who are discriminated against, who become the cannon fodder, the pawns in the game, those who are denied access, whose heads are stepped on by others getting to where they want to be. Someone has always been left out…and we are approaching the time when that is no longer tenable; it is a version of reality that is no longer supported by the universal impulse of this planet. Our time of oneness in the sense that we finally acknowledge and live by the tenet that we are all as-one, thus what we do to “other” we only do to ourselves, is upon us and the last century served as a “darkest before the dawn” moment to herald that new era.
