Getting over the ultimate catastrophe

What I had hit upon…what indeed we are talking about here is a mass case of post-traumatic stress disorder that we all share and which variable triggers in our environment (that is, anything we have come to associate with “catastrophe” at the deepest levels) may well being “playing” inside of us like notes on a piano as these memories ask to be shown to the light of our consciousness so we can heal this planet as one. If we are alive, here and now, we are (at DNA level) survivors of this unthinkable cataclysm that took place in near-history (so, first off, congratulate yourself for that!) and yet it has remained completely suppressed by the orthodox version of history that we are taught and also by our own bodies, which have in effect volunteered to bury the information because it was just too painful to be seen. Such locked away trauma has a tendency to play out through our unconscious behaviour patterns and so-called irrational fears and, sooner or later…in order to heal…must see the light of day by being made conscious. Out of the shadows

We can even become deeply afraid of losing that which is most holding us back us, afraid of who we will be and what will become possible when we are without the long-standing antagonists of our experience, whether these are so-called outside circumstances or deep inner pain, because these can often feel like the longest companion we have known. Sometimes it can feel like we are but an inch from the very transformation we most long for if we could but allow ourselves to let go of the reassurance that can come from any situation, however dire, when it has become like the miserable dog that greets us at our own door day after day. Is this what pain has become to me, do I even know how to live without it…or am I prepared to at least give it a try? Continue reading

In search of waterfalls

Something called me back to the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley this year and I responded to it like a knee-jerk impulse (since we hardly needed yet another trip this busy year…), booking it almost before I had time to … Continue reading

Where the circle meets the line

Another trip of the heart just completed; a revisit to Avebury’s stones only, this time, for a weekend so that we could explore that ancient landscape further, go for total emersion and take our time joining many dots. I’ve talked … Continue reading

Joining dots and crossing over

I always like to start a new year somewhere high up with a good strong wind. Yesterday, it was a particular stretch of the Ridgeway (one of England’s most ancient routes) that I hadn’t walked before, being mostly familiar with … Continue reading

Circles within circles

In yesterday’s biting cold yet predicted sunshine and relative calm sandwiched between two wedges of storm and flood, my husband and I threw warm layers into the car and headed off to Avebury stone circle on ‘a jolly’; that is, … Continue reading
