Cultivating the mystical

In order to experience the exceptional, we first have to alter our own frequency…then make space for it to happen. After that, its so easy, we wonder why we don’t do it sooner or more often! Continue reading

Could 5G hasten our extinction?

Very little of the (real) news about 5G makes happy reading but if there’s one piece of information that I can’t seem to shake out of my head, its that it could be devastating to all the bees that are … Continue reading

The terrible responsibility of “just knowing”

This latest phase of technology, known as 5G, is being rolled out regardless of the lack of any significant “data” to demonstrate it will not significantly harm life on this planet (and plenty to suggest it will…); rushed through like some sort of shotgun wedding to cover the tracks of something else that is gestating on the other side of it. I’m no luddite, I love some of what technology can do, but I recognise when vested interest has got the upper hand over human and planetary wellbeing; and, once this is “switched on”, do we really think that those who control it are going to switch it back off, for any justification whatsoever? Have you even heard about the effect on the trees, the bees, the birds and the effect on plant growth, water, our very ecosystem? If this continues, I believe we will see one nefarious action after the other, “justified” by the drive to grab this new technology and with all of our previous niggles about the eco-crisis overshadowed into oblivion by a giant monster of an eco-meltdown, caused by playing with matches before we know enough about fire. Continue reading

Three winged tales for the year end

I’m going to share a trio of stories from my last day of the year; things that happened quite organically, though there seems to be a distinct thread of bird-magic running through them. The first relates to a new artwork … Continue reading

The song that is most sweet in the dark

On the night of the full super moon, a robin sang sweetly in my garden for the hour until the moon peaked. It began in darkness and then, the cloud mass had begun to break-up and to separate, dissolved into wisps. The newly appeared and dazzling moon looked like it was racing through a cotton-wool landscape or materialising and dematerialising in the centre of a flower that just kept emerging, throwing new petals out of its own void. It was like watching the universe take shape; something birthed out of nothing and, all the time, this sweet monologue of bird song, the seventh dimensional sound that was once the “word” that birthed it all. What made this song so powerful, so compelling, so “stop right there” in my tracks in order to hear every note of it, for all the night was bitterly cold? It was like I was receiving a download, a melodious morse code, that some aspect of myself was busily deciphering. What was so compelling was that its pure beauty came out of darkness; was this incongruous melody that cut through the blankness as though asserting “I choose to make from all this dark potential THIS”…. Graceful journey: a Scandinavian experience

When grace happens to you, it is like a moment of poise that you just know is exactly where you were destined to be; one you will never forget and will continue to draw upon at times when life drags you back into its slip streams. Like portals between layers of space and time that tell us we are unfailingly on track, can’t even be off-track if we tried, these appointments with our own self-created destiny are powerful nodes of experience that communicate back and forth across time and space and make life feel unimaginably coherent, even in the midst of the most tragic or unexpected things happening around us. Nothing can truly shake us out of this sense of coherence once we plug into this personal journey of the heart. There is true power and strength to be found around so many unlikely street corners on such a journey through life; one which takes us far closer to the true epicentre of our own heart-maze than anything we could experience from following somebody else’s guidance on where we should be going, what we should be doing. Listen to the advice, yes…but the listen to your own inner guidance first; and take some of those detours down less trodden streets and be amazed at what shows up in some unexpected places. That’s when we realise that grace is, ultimately, an inside job and entirely portable, wherever we happen to be. From that space, we realise, place is just a matter of perspective; that the inner work is where it all happens and that, through the attitudes we adopt, we really are the true architects of our world, the creators of our own skyline view and (when we allow life to unfold for us) we are always, unfailingly, in the right place at the right time. Parting of ways

It was like being in a scene from Snow White…surrounded as I was yet it was like the sea of wild-life effortlessly parted to make way for me as I progressed; these creatures were working with me while it was obvious I was hardly interrupting their morning at the pace I was driving. You could say, all was harmonious and in balance. Meanwhile, on the M4 motorway, two swans had taken up residence…was Nature trying to tell us all something this morning and are we ready to hear? Continue reading

How I know when I’m in that place of alignment

There is a state of being that feels like slipping easily into true divine selfhood as though into a familiar, self-moulded easy chair; that delivers itself in clues both subtle and mighty and as the most creative and inspired, most … Continue reading

The blossom opened early…

Did the tree know something I didn’t, had it heard the starting pistol, received the signal, been slipped the secret cue that something big was underway; something that could contain itself no longer but must “out” into the light? Or had it simply felt it must take that leap of faith, be the one to demonstrate, through actions, that it dared to be all today that it had hoped to be tomorrow so that others would also believe this was possible and much more so than just through the endless repeating of words? No more waiting. No more striving. No more hoping and trekking and aiming and intending and visualising but BEING it. Did it want to manifest what it already knew to be so in its heart’s potential, to bring it out of hiding and into that light, however cautious and conditional these times still urged it to be, however much of a mixed blessing the sheer intensity of that light it was reaching out into could sometimes feel? Had it decided there was no more time left for slumbering underground, its tenderness tucked away inside dry woody branches? Continue reading
