Three winged tales for the year end

I’m going to share a trio of stories from my last day of the year; things that happened quite organically, though there seems to be a distinct thread of bird-magic running through them. The first relates to a new artwork … Continue reading

How about women taking back the reins of their own evolution

New Year is coming so, before you sign up for YET another new “spiritual” self-improvement (or any other kind of) program, consider these thoughts from a couple of valuable women writers and a few of my own…And take pause to consider why do you even need some sort of authority figure to guide you to where you want to go next; isn’t it time that became the very next belief system that you throw in the shredding machine ready to fully explore the inner guru that you already are? When “Rudolf” was a woman…

Rudolf was probably a girl (the biggest, strongest reindeer are females who, unlike the males, don’t shed their antlers in winter)…Santa too (it was the female shamans who originally wore red and white costumes trimmed with fur, horned headdresses or … Continue reading

Christmas wierdness

“There are many things I love about christmas and yet, I never understood why I could ALSO feel so alone at times on Christmas Day. It didn’t make sense, but it would happen to me, year after year. I have … Continue reading

Speaking out for each other

Whatever “story” is making you heart weep right now, be it the ecosystem, treatment of animals or of people (there’s a lot to choose from…), I say to you, don’t run away from it but take steps to be active in it; taking POSITIVE action, which is being your light in an earthly sense and in ways that don’t deplete but invest you in your humanness. That’s what I am doing here, with this story to share…asking for your help. When we all work together, fuelled by the heart, extraordinary things can happen… Continue reading

Dissolving barbed wire

‘The global atrocity of eating animals and wearing animal skins is responsible for the mass murder of more than 150 billion innocent animals annually. If you added up all the humans who have been enslaved, and murdered since the beginning … Continue reading

The festive underbelly

Part of me finds christmas quite abhorrent because meat gluttony peaks at this time of year and there’s really no escaping it. Everywhere I look –  in my newsfeed, in commercials and many of the websites I use to do … Continue reading

New growth out of old wood

New growth out of old wood is infinitely possible; we see it all the time, out in Nature, happening before our very eyes. Winter’s tree is reliably replaced by springtime’s new growth, to a pattern that always serves the purposes of the tree, however it may look from the outside. Whilst anyone may choose to withdraw inwards to suit the season, becoming as woody, barren, plain and withdrawn as they must be to meet the harsher climes of life, we still get to choose when to “sprout” our way out, in new and colourfully creative ways…over and over again, exactly as we say so… Continue reading

When will we stop making new sides to be on?

In whatever I do, I can’t help but be the bridge builder; its how I’m “made”, which is to see both sides or, more accurately, the fuller picture. It’s this same over the currently topical matter of feminine v masculine, … Continue reading
