Getting out of the sacrifice mentality
How do we get out of the sacrifice mentality that is still so prevalent that it underlies the very way we run our lives, what we eat, what we are prepared to do for a living, how easily we give up on our dreams and our values, just so many matters of health, not to mention our very ability (or not) to fulfil our true potential. Yes its everywhere, drummed into us from birth, yet most people have never given it a second thought. So, why are we (still) so hooked on such an outworn concept that serves us so ill…like we are sacrificed to the very idea of putting ourselves through it on perpetual loop. Where does it lurk beneath our very noses and what can we do about it? Continue reading →

A short account of the evolution of humanity…and where we are now
When we “arrived” here in our most primitive physical version, humans were like this figure (you could take the circle to be their Whole World); in other words, we were an aspect of wholeness and knew nothing except this seamless … Continue reading →

Lead from joy
Try doing what you want to do in the world from a place of affirmative, not what you don’t want. What fills you with joy and enthusiasm? Go there. Stride forwards into new rather than turning back to take on … Continue reading →

Absolute
We are all absolute at the core of our cells; in that void of pure potential that has yet to take shape as the matter we more familiarly know as the substance of life. So, the more we wake up … Continue reading →

The joy of finding tribe
When you find “tribe” your relative uniqueness can flip from being a weakness to becoming your very power-point…that which unites you and makes you more determined to be the difference together. Deep familiarity sweeps you over for the fact that it is so typically absent when you are amongst other people…and suddenly you are all lit up, laughing at all the ironies that once floored you, ignited with enthusiasm, passion, innovation and determination whilst eagerly gobbling up all the resources you can pool together. Its a powerful thing and all the more so when its been absent from your life for so long you had all but convinced yourself you were destined to travel this road alone.

Memories from the stones
Sometimes its as though the stones of a place speak to us; sometimes its a feeling of a place that takes us back in time…reminding us of something important, like a memo to ourselves. Continue reading →

Staying dry?
We are not infallible on this road to our higher consciousness, even though we may notice we have the wind behind us once we get on our way. Part of that awakening consciousness is to be aware of this hardship and the paradoxical nature of the territory…and notice where we are still vulnerable; where old addictions and fears draw us back to what no longer resonates for reasons such as familiarity or wanting to belong. From time to time, we may need to think into these areas as well as using the heart (the head is not our enemy; it can be our servant…or research-assistant…when we need to be quite clear about something where there are old-trends to be made sense of). Doing “the work” of thinking something through can help support the heart without taking it over. Its just a new way of orchestrating an age-old partnership, with different emphasis, putting us on a better footing to approach a decision openly, without agenda, except to serve the highest outcome. Leave what you know…
Set sail from the shore. “Paint” in life what you feel from your depths, not your intellect. This will flutter and shape-shift; you’ll never catch up…but oh the journey, the heights, the joy. Scared? Oh yes. Feel that too.

We are the keystone of the bridge
Too often, the well-meaning desire for wholeness resorts to force or self-claimed authority to try to make this union happen; and its left uncomfortable, raw, impermanent and ready to blow-up at again at the slightest pressure. When we craft a version of wholeness as an extension of ourselves, in the way of any true project of the heart, the in-built incentive is already there to remain whole because it feels so good; since it comes straight from our divinity. We are remembering who we really are, outside the arena of halves that is the earth plane, and it feels…well…divine! Continue reading →

Taking off those lead boots
Every moment you spend raking over the old paradigm is another moment spent in there. Check in with yourself, where are you still doing this? Its like wearing lead boots! ***
